The topic of pilgrimage and, more precisely, that of Santiago de Compostela, has a symbolic value. The path, if taken by Christians, has also become a famous walk where walkers meet lovers of Roman art. The "camino frances", the trails of Way of St James was declared the first European Cultural Route by the Council of Europe in October 1987 and inscribed as one of UNESCO's World Heritage Sites in 1993. The route is an European trail which unites across borders and languages. For this reason, this contest theme, which lasts until January 28th, inspired us to link the different fotocommunities.

Pilgrimages: share your photographs from a spiritual journey and from an internal experience on the trails of Saint Jacques or on other faith paths in Europe. Grab the moment between walk and visit of religious monuments, between solitary meditation and communal ritual.
These photos will be exhibited in the scope of the premier virtual exposition showcasing the five linguistic versions of fotocommunity.
In February 2007 part of these images will be taken with high quality support and exhibited at a tangible exposition in the salon Ecclesia de Cologne.

Conditions for participating in the contest:
--> The photographs posted for the competition can only be uploaded
without commentary. If you would like to upload an image that was
published beforehand at the fotocommunity site and already contains
commentary, you cannot simply move the image to the competition
section : you must upload it anew directly into the competition
section.
--> When sending the image, you confirm that you have taken the
photograph yourself and own the copyright. The photograph must be
free of copyright infringement, i.e. not owned by a third party.
--> The original photo file must have a minimum resolution of 3000x2000 pixels.
--> For participants who are minors/underage, the permission of the
legal guardian is implied by the sending/posting of the image.
--> The competition begins January 11, 2007, at 6 p.m.
--> All legal appeals are excluded.
--> The collaborators in charge of this competition within
fotocommunity or of salon ecclesia, as well as members of their
families, are prohibited from particpating in the competition.
--> For technical reasons, every participant must become or be a
member of fotocommunity (even as a free guest subscriber - Free Guest)
--> The competition ends on January 28, 2007, around noon (12 p.m.).
--> Contribution that do not correspond to the conditions for
participation cannot expect to win the competition.
--> Publication of winners beginning January 31, 2007.
--> Each member can participate and post up to 2 images.
--> Winners imply their agreement to have their photographs used and
published (exposition, printing, internet, CD and other media) within
the scope of the competition and salon ecclesia. The winners reserve
all other rights.
